Candy Girl

This is Diana Cullen.  She's the owner of Cullen-ary Creations and food is her business.

She's slightly obsessed with all the possible ways one can use food especially in a photo shoot.  So, she challenged us with the task of candy and head shots. Something fun. Now this isn't our regular kinda of shoot, this is like our FAVORITE kind of thing to do.  For a week we scoured the web, painted our nails bubble gum pink and managed to buy a ton of old fashion candy and we had the worse case of photo-shoot-on-the-brain imaginable.

We found all kinds of cool ideas including ice cream cone inspired nail art, which she promptly took to her nail tech.
Donna Devlin, our HMUA, did an amazing job with the makeup and those eyes. A beautiful array of colors from fushia to purple was blended above those super long eyelashes.  She even dipped her lips in red crystallized sugar granules.

We got sprinkles, pop rocks, twizzlers, dots, bazooka bubble gum, crystalized sugar in all kinds of colors, lollipops big and small.  Yes, that red heart is made from pop rocks and continued to fire off during our whole shoot.

Add 20 helium balloons, a pink velour backdrop and maybe a cellophane bow and place a beautiful model amidst all that and you get this.

We had a lot of fun on this shoot.  We had Diana doing all kinds of things from eating enough candy to warrant a dentist appointment to doing enough hair tosses to cause a migraine.

We decided to mix things up and swapped out the wig for pigtails and ribbons a teeny weeny skirt, knee high socks and sky high heels.  Yes, Diana can walk just fine in 6" heels, even in the grass, while blowing bubbles and twirling her pigtails.  Her husband, who popped in to see how the shoot was going did a double take checking out those legs. (Yes, I saw that.)

I love Diana's fun spirit, she brought so much energy and fun to the shoot, she had us laughing and calling for yet more antics. it was a real treat to do this shoot, in more ways than one.

Diana, thank you for entrusting us with this fun shoot, we had a great time doing it and particularly for someone like you.  We look forward to our next adventure.  (Note, our last shoot with Diana was called Asian Princess, be sure to check it out.)

Before & After:
As promised, I will now include a before & after shot for all shoots, so many of you have asked, and I listened.  Yes, everyone and I do mean EVERYONE, gets transformed under the hands of our hair and makeup artists (HMUA).  It doesn't matter if you are doing something this dramatic or a natural look, everyone looks incredibly fabulous after a makeover.
