Muses that Glow
Check out the photoshoot here: ----> http://animoto.com/play/XYUaLfdraev0Cmldns81Eg
We got together with Karissa Ferguson and Mercy Clark for this shoot. We were inspired by black light photography. We came up with 3 ideas and did a lot of planning for this shoot. Our first look was inspired by our original Petal Shoot over a year ago which was very popular. So we found petals that glowed in the dark added a bunch of eyelashes and built off that.
For the second look, this took a lot of time. First we made bodices out of duct tape. Then we took glow sticks and created a bra like pattern and taped them onto the pink neon bodice. Just wrapping them in tape took a good 45 minutes - we had to make sure we didn't wrap them too tight or they wouldn't be able to expand their lungs enough to last a whole shoot. Then we made cutout shapes from neon labels and put glowing rhinestones on them then we added some glow stick earrings and paint on the lips.
For the last look we took tape and covered Karissa's face creating an open area with a mask shape - we covered her in sheets and flicked paint on her face and then simply removed the tape.
We shot until midnight. This was a lot of work taking up to an hour to get into each look, but we really loved the results and hope you do too! Thank you Karissa & Mercy!

Sam Ciccone
This is Sam Ciccone, daughter of our hair and makeup artist, Donna Devlin, she's 21, lives in PSL and is getting ready for a whole new chapter in her life.
They wanted a special shoot because Sam is being shipped out in a couple weeks as a new recruit in the Army and is being sent to South Carolina.
Sam wanted a country and western theme so we went out to Allapattah Flats with it's wind swept fields of hay to do her shoot. The grass was very tall and at one point Donna heard a snort, we think it might have been a boar, so we were on red alert for critters! (Course I still crawled around in the hay in order to get some of these shots. Fearless I tell you, fearless.)
As the sun sunk lower on the horizon it was clear that we'd have gorgeous light to finish the shoot. Everything turned golden and lit her up beautifully.
Sam, thank you so much for making the incredibly important decision to join the Army. Those of us who count on people like you to honor and protect our country are deeply indebted. Again, thank you!
And to Donna who is one brave parent, I know this must be a difficult yet proud time for your family. God Bless you all!
