The Pretty Muses of 2011 - Part One

Here are many of the lovely muses we photographed over the year.  Thank you ladies, you truly inspired us.  You made us dream a bigger dream.

And to all of you who prefer not to be published on the blog we love you too and totally appreciate that you want to keep some of these shoots a secret.

SNEAK PEEK! Hippie Chick's Secret

When was the last time you put on a head band and flowers in your hair?


Or built an impromptu hippie pad right on the side of the road?

When was the last time you ran through a field of grass laughing?

 Or embraced the Zen of a sunset.

 Twirled on a beach?

This Hippie Chick thing has been shooting for a couple weeks.  And we've been all over Stuart, Hutchinson Island, Jensen Beach and the Treasure Coast. And you've spotted us alright!   Thank you for all the whoops, honks and even the cracking voices that went trailing down the road behind your car. We all appreciate you too!

Stay tuned....more shooting.  More music, more funk, more freedom, more carefree fun, more hippie chicks coming up, and if all goes well, we actually hope to have a mini movie or a video.  For us that's a full length feature film.

I wonder. If we had a Hippie Chick concert on the beach would you come?  Like Hippie Palooza?  Ok, so what if it was air guitar?  You'd still come right?

Would you take a peek at these nails!?  My girls at Mojitoes Nail Bar, in downtown Stuart channeled their inner hippie chick and came up with these amazing nails just for our shoot. (You should see the toes....oh wait.  You will!)   Beckah and April you rock.  We love you.  Model Karissa Ferguson was actually singing a song about you....she said something like "Ohhhhh ohhhhh.  Ohhhh I could probably play if my nails weren't so damned pretty!

Teaser for the Lovely Karissa Ferguson

To taunt and tease in these days of trick or treats?


There is no pretense, no conjured magic on this Halloween. No smoke and mirrors to create illusions of beauty and fleeting imagery.

She simply is.  She was. And still is. Our next muse.

The Pretty Muse crew played a slight trick on this lovely model.  Not only was she photographed by our cameras, we were secretly putting her through the hoops; a casting call for an upcoming shoot, 'Hippie Chick on a Road Trip".  We were looking for just the right face, just the right gaze in her eyes, just the right stuff.  Frankly, she's got all the right stuff. She could be our Snow White just as easily as our Hippie Chick, she could be Pretty Woman or Angelina Jolie.

As one whose spent many many hours on the easel in figure drawing classes, studying the body and the bones, the way light illuminates and shadows define, Karissa Ferguson is most certainly a wonderful next muse.

We had 3 shooters and we, well.... you'll see what we did and I'll tell you what's next.
