White Lace & Sheets - A Boudoir Shoot

This isn't your typical 47 year old woman.  I'm not sure what a typical 47 year old looks like, but I assure you every single woman I know hopes like hell they look like this one does.  This woman, I'll call Denise, has a body that is Penthouse worthy.  Seriously. We did a playful boudoir shoot with a script I came up with in order to give the shoot context and this is some of what we came up with.  Mind you, the story line is fictional although Denise most certainly isn't.

It could happen on any innocent afternoon, oh say a Wednesday. A tingling sensation that today might be different. You could tell by looking at her that the atoms buzzing around her body were about to try something different.

And there it was.  The phone call. "Yes!"

Her bare feet patted their way to the shower.

Women can't hide certain emotions or feelings.  It's that twinkling in the eye that you can't make happen when you want to, nor can you hide it, but here it was.  Unhidden and blazing.

And there it was.  The room changed, the air changed, her hair changed, her walk changed.  Everything changed.  Electric.

A rendevoux.   It changed the way she smiled, she laughed, she sauntered, she even shut the door.

But guess who stayed on the inside?  Yep.

When a woman is in love she does things because she feels alive, every fiber is alive there's a renewed sense of curiosity about everything and a simple joy in the little things.  So it was no surprise that Denise jumped on the bed and danced and jumped and laughed and fell and laughed and was utterly alive.  I loved it.

But she wasn't done.  Oh no, she was going to still everyone's heart.  She wanted to go outside and play.  And so we did.

And then she decided to jump in the pool.

Then this woman completely took our breath away as she stood up, went under water and came up for the coolest hair toss I've seen in ages.

She took us on a journey and we loved every minute of it.  Thank you Denise, you are one utterly amazing woman.

Meanwhile, Chloe wasn't impressed.  She chilled out on the ground and implied to me that it was she who taught Denise how to do the hair toss, but that's another story.

What I'm Doing - May 1, 2012

Ok, so here's the dealio. I'm told, by the blogger gods, that if I'm going to blog I must tell readers more about me or who we (me and hubby) are.  That nobody wants to just see pictures that ya'll really want a more rounded out blog. I'm not so sure about that.  BUT....I'm going to do another installment of 'What I'm Doing'.

What I'm Obsessing Over Tonight:

Reading?

Fifty Shades of Grey by  EL James
Holy cow! Holy shit and Holy everything else.  This is like 9 1/2 weeks but way better.   I don't think this qualifies as a romance novel, but how would I know?  I never read romance, but I love this book. I  also adore the dialog she has with her inner goddess who pops her head out behind the couch dramatically fanning her face and smiling, a way she uses to keep both herself and the reader tuned into her true feelings about what she's doing.  And she has  some serious doings! I'm only on book 1, but so far, SOOO good.  See that stainless steel diamond plate pattern on the tie on the cover, the kind you see on industrial products?  Well, that manages to cleverly leave it's imprint on her wrists just to remind her... (This is one book I will not be lending to my mother-in-law.)

Note:  During the book every time the author mentions a song I found myself on iTunes listening to it deciding whether it should be added to my playlists.  Yep, I have a Fifty Shades of Grey playlist. So far?  3 Songs.  You can even google Fifty Shades of Grey music and all kinds of people are keeping a list and doing the same thing.  This book has an enormous following!

Fav Apps?

Pinterest - I've become a Pinterest addict, thanks to fellow blogger Tia Ashton.   And boy do I love it when I get an email letting me know 50 other people loved it and repinned it too!  Try it!

How do you use Pinterest?  http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/story/2012-01-17/how-to-pinterest-mark-smith/52615856/1

POW - Cool photography app.  Find this app on the App Store. This app lets you create cute little cartoon like strips as well as dipticts?  A way of adding multiple images to one page.  This little app lets you add text change borders and even create business cards.  It's a very useful app that I've been using for years and find myself using weekly.  The last image on this post was done using POW.

Pic You - Something like Instagram but the new kid on the block.
http://picyou.com/

Magazines
May Issue of Vogue - Call me old school but some things I just don't read on my iPad.  I'm still very tactile and prefer to read my books and magazines the good old fashion way.  Why do I read Vogue?  Well, it keeps me tuned into what's new and fresh (since I'm no longer 25 or even 35 or even 45).   Besides I'm slightly obsessed with Andre Leon, a larger than life character, that's lived one hell of a fascinating life.

May Issue of W.  Ohhh I love the photography in this magazine.  Both of these magazines inspire me as a photographer since so much of what we do has a magazine flavor to it.

Movie
Last good movie?  Uh, let's see, like the rest of the planet The Hunger Games.  I inhaled all 3 books and loved the movie.

Favorite New Healthy Food:
Quaker Oats Bars - This is my new go-to food.

Favorite Nail Polish Color
Essie's Go Overboard

Music:
Ingrid Michaelson's new CD Human Again - just got this one.

Latest Photography toy
New LED Lights (sooo cool) - Ok for you photographers you'll appreciate this, especially since it's new technology, its' a board full of little tiny LED bulbs.   I don't like this new addition to our gear, I LOVE IT!

Favorite Blogs:
Trend Hunter - this blog is one of the coolest blogs I've ever followed. It's a lifestyle blog. Especially if you are a photographer.  This blog is dedicated to following new trends.

ME?  Well, here I am working on a makeup trial for a styled shoot we have coming up, trying to decided which eye is the one with the right combination of colors.

Ok, so this is my second installment of What I'm Doing. I'm no so sure you are interested in this stuff, but I'll try this one more time and if it doesn't get a lot of hits then I know all ya'll want to see are pics and forget the stuff in the middle.  Surprisingly the first one I did got A LOT of views but maybe that was a mistake or something, so we'll see.  Is there something you DO want me to write about?  Do you want to know more about how we do shoots, more about the shoot itself, more about the subjects?  Or maybe you just want more pictures? Tell me what you like and I'll run with it.  Promise. :)
