Sneak Peek at the Candy Shoot

Ya'll know how much I love pink right?

Well model, Diana Cullen from Port Saint Lucie, indulged us by deciding to choose a Cullin-ary theme for her shoot.  As you might have guessed, she has a cullinary business and makes all kinds of cool goodies, so it's no surpirse she wanted a way to take food and add it to her shoot.  This shoot was so much fun and totally indulged our childhood memories of nerds, sprinkles, twizzlers, candy necklaces, balloons even strawberries and whip cream....but I'm getting ahead of myself.   Did I mention she wears stripped knee socks and high HIGH heels and swings on the swing in pigtails?  Yes, she totally embraced her inner child and we had a blast.  Stay tuned for the full blog post and video!

The Retro Karissa - Part 2

Here, Part 2 of our Retro shoot

The overall look and feel for this shoot was to look fashiony with a retro spin.  For this look I made a corset (with bone-ing) and pencil skirt, both made out of brocade fabric.  The look we wanted was a little retro but very rich looking.  We kept the hair and makeup the same but added a jewels.

The jewelry I ordered on eBay from a place that sells Indian wedding jewelry. Indians love their bling and their jewelry is always VERY eye catching.  And very reasonable.  Course it takes a month to getting anything from the Far East, and it's a gamble, but often you get a wonderful surprise and unexpectedly intriguing merchandise.  They always include a free gift, sometimes they include foreign currency or small jewelry - it's apparently the custom to send everything with a gift. This necklace with earrings and the head ornament was under $25.00.

The corset is made from 4 different pieces of fabric (came from a stack of fat quarters) but because they are all burgundy they went together surprisingly well.

Here Karissa is twirling on the dance floor with 8 yards of jersey fabric.

Karissa took the fabric and wrapped it around her bust, right over the clothing and tied a knot and turned this piece of fabric into an evening gown.

You gotta admit, that's a killer knot.  Beautiful little dress, great job Karissa!

Pretty Muse believes the women in front of our camera come to us because they want what we do. We are unique. We are offering a new kind of photography style and service that nobody, to our knowledge, is able to offer.

Women are inspired by the magazines they grew up reading, they respond when they see pictures of themselves that resemble a perfume ad or the cover of a magazine.  They want a little glamour, a little fashion flair, a makeover and they want to feel glamourous.  This is what we do.  And we love, LOVE, love doing it.

Next month we are going to offer a very special opportunity for you to become the muse, to have your dream shoot.  We've thought long and hard about how to bring our special brand to Treasure Coast women and now have a unprecedented photography service.  In a couple weeks we'll present this offer but wanted you to know it's coming!  Meanwhile, thank you for maintaining such high interest in what we are doing!

The Retro Karissa - Part 1

We've been shooting this muse for some time now and she continues to shine and inspire.  After our last shoot with Karissa, which was Adele inspired, we decided that we really wanted a retro vibe for this one.

So, I drug out the sewing machine some fabric and bird cage netting and made this cute little pencil skirt and matching hat to get more of that retro feel. Then we had, Lance Stevens, HMUA, do her hair in a side twist. Her makeup was similiar to our last shoot with a cateye look, with long lashes and we finished the look off with rich red lips to help give it a 40's feel.

It takes more than a fun outfit to make a look work.  It takes a good model and Karissa has a seasoned feel to her that made this shoot go off without a hitch.  This shoot was done at The Mansion by Indian River Park.

Part 2 tomorrow - I whipped up a second look, a gorgeous burgundy brocade bustier and royal blue pencil skirt with an exaggerated wrap and tons of jewels.  Then Karissa took 8 yards of fabric and tied herself a very fancy evening dress for the third look.
