Playground Teaser Post

 You know this face, its one of our frequently used models, Karissa, also known as a bonafide muse. And if you read this blog I think you know exactly why we use her.

Other than being completely muse-worthy she's the face of a million faces.  She can project different emotions and looks by merely batting an eyelash.  This is no easy feat.  She works at modeling.  She studies modeling by studying photographs and it shows.

Tomorrow I'll post the video to this shoot.  It was an afternoon at the playground doing a simple lifestyle shoot.

An Afternoon with Hannah

I have a question for you. If you were walking along and stumbled upon this vision before you what would you think?

Would you simply breath in a moment of it's beauty and enjoy it?  Would you stop to talk or, be afraid to interrupt the moment and keep going.  You'd probably wonder who was lying so beautifully in the field. You'd wonder why she was there and all along you'd kinda hope that she was there simply because that's what a girl like her does when she damn well feels like it.  Right?

The next thing you'd wonder is when was the last time you were overcome with the need to lay down and watch the sky no matter how impromptu the moment was.  Right?  Well, I thought the same thing.  Yes, of course I dwell on the beach pondering the sky, but not dressed in a white dress and hat and the most adorable shoes.  There's something rather divine about it.

So let Hannah here be a reminder to all of you that you are doing a public service by being overcome with such a need to lay down and let beauty reign.  Go ahead, I task you with being the next vision for sore eyes.  Don't question your beauty, your shoes or your hair, just be.  Free. Spirited.  I adore this kind of irreverence --- I may even drag out my camera and come running.  Alas, be not afraid, I'm friendly fire!

This was a fun shoot. Our model, Hannah Gardner from Port Saint Lucie modeled as a child and has decided she wants to get back into modeling.  This girl has a lot to offer any photographer, she's gorgeous (clearly), statuesque, charming, graceful, playful, vibrant and has the most 'nail-you-to-the-wall blue eyes I've ever seen. I couldn't take a bad picture of her if I tried.  The camera loves her and I found it hard to stop shooting.  Yep, even adorable toes.  Yes it's safe to say this won't be the last time you see her here!

Thank you Hannah and Donna for being such a great team to work with.  Hannah, you got the goods girl!  I'm looking forward to our next shoot and wondering what you'll inspire us to do with you!  I'm sure it'll be great!

Color Me Pretty

This shoot was simply to play with a makeup look taking mostly headshots, both inside and outdoors.

Shall we call this a rainbow makeup look?   I spent a couple days doing makeup trials on myself trying to figure out the best way to do this look.  Yet, every time I tried it, it came out different.   (I don't like when that happens.)  But when it came down to it, it worked out just fine.  As you'll see, this look isn't all that wild of a look to pull off after all.  It turned out to be quite flattering.

Do you love makeup?  Love all the new super rich pigments that are flooding the stores?   If you are looking for a massive pallet with a bunch of super rich colors I can't recommend high enough BH Cosmetics. (Online store - link below.)  The palette I used for this shoot is called 120 Palette 1st Edition.  Costs under $20.00!   It's a MUST OWN for ladies who love makeup. (These colors are just one layer of color applied, so they are nicely pigmented.)

This 'shadow tattoo' was her idea.  How she was able to see what was going on along her back is beyond me, but she gave me one of her classic, 'how about this?' lines.  And then she pointed out the shadow tattoo along her body.  She arched her back and the branch splayed itself perfectly from the flower behind her ear down her shoulder and arms.  Very pretty.
