Lindsay La Salla on the Beach

Lindsay La Salla

Check out her video see link below!

I love every shoot we've done with Lindsay La Salla even the challenging ones like this one with 20 mph winds and the threat of rain.  Course, I love all our shoots but she's a real treat to have in front of the camera.

Lindsay is special find because she originally worked with Pretty Muse as a HMUA (hair and makeup artist), yet it was clear from the start that she belonged equally in front of the camera.  Her hair and makeup skills are top notch, but so is her modeling.  The camera loves her and we agree.

When we arrived at the House of Refuge on Hutchinson Island we found an injured Loon, and this threatened to be my undoing.  I'm one of those people who melt over animals and an injured one is almost too much to take.  My heart breaks. We made a couple calls to the Fish and Game  and the Martin County Sheriff's Animal Control Officer and they came straight out and rescued the Loon.  I was so bummed watching the poor thing sitting there with a broken wing and distressed, there was no way I could shoot, great to see our Sheriff's Department respond so quickly.

I'm completely convinced that Lindsay has no idea how beautiful she is.  She's so graceful in front of the camera and yet surprised when she sees a picture of herself.  Lindsay, you are a total dream to work with!

I can promise you this, you'll be seeing more of Lindsay.  We are collaborating on a secret shoot that's on the avant garde side. So, we'll see what happens!

An Afternoon with Karissa

If you read this blog you already know model Karissa Ferguson.  She and I had a leisurely afternoon to play around with some ideas.  She loves photography and had saved up a bunch of images that she liked, collectively they were completely random, but we decided it didn't matter.  We just went through the images and played around.  It was fun to have the freedom to just take one random picture after the next, not worrying whether they were cohesive or not.

And then we started to play around with paint.

And she kept playing with paint.

Then we added pigment.

Thank you Karissa for being such a lovely muse.

Portraiture with Mercy Clark

Here's Mercy Clark in her latest portraiture session.

Inspired by the Victoria Secret special I made some cutout dolls and hearts for Mercy to play with.  Check out the video for the full shoot.  http://animoto.com/play/kFCzWCjvMOP14nzj01qAgw#

Mercy embodies life, sweetness and beauty.  She's always a treat to have because she brings such energy to each and every shoot.  She shifts from loveliness to mischievousness in a blink of an eye.   This ability to render up such a variety of emotions and expressions are a photographer's dream.  We are used to working with new models but it's always a special treat to just let someone loose!  And that we did!

Mercy you are and have always been a pure pleasure to shoot, I look forward to another year with lots of shoots featuring you and your amazing self.

This shoot was conducted because Santa brought a new portraiture lens.  The 85mm f/1.8 is indeed all that they say it is.  It's a beautiful portrait lens, and is going to get LOTS of use!

And I just couldn't resist treating myself to a custom made phone case made with Pretty Muse on it.  Too cute huh?
